Description
The Trane VAL8787 is a thermal expansion valve and designated for use in systems operating with R-410A refrigerant. To regulate the flow of refrigerant in the system a TXV, also known as a metering device, is needed. Versus the fixed-orifice expansion valve, the TXV allows precise control of the amount of refrigerant passing through the evaporator coil thus boosting cooling efficiency. It functions as follows TXV uses a pressure-sensing device to determine the pressure inside the evaporator coil. When the load of the system rises and the suction pressure has lowered, the TXV oraves to admit more refrigerant.
